Drug arrest reported in Fred area

FRED – A man was recently arrested in the Fred area and charged with two felony meth possession counts.

According to Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford, a routine patrol by deputies with the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office resulted in a traffic stop of 43-year-old Kevin Anthony Eason of Fred. Eason was stopped for a traffic violation, and while speaking with the deputies who stopped him, probable cause for a search was developed, Weatherford said.

A search of Eason’s truck turned up several items of drug paraphernalia, including two syringes, and deputies seized THC, marijuana and 28.8 grams of methamphetamines, along with the paraphernalia.

Earlier in the year Eason was arrested and charged with felony possession of meth and testosterone.

Eason was taken into custody and charged with two felony meth possession counts. Pct. 4 Justice of the Peace Jim Moore set his bonds at $20,000.
