Durwood Ling, 83, of Colmesneil, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at his residence.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Aline Baptist Church near Doucette. Burial followed in Egypt Cemetery near Colmesneil. Officiating was Dale Brantley. Serving as pallbearers were Jason Griffith, Keith Waldrep, Jacob Waldrep, Lloyd Durr, Brady Rhoden, and Robert Durr.
Durwood was born February 5, 1943 to Clarence and Ruby Ling in Doucette, Texas. A Tyler County native and lifelong resident of Tyler County, he was a graduate of Colmesneil High School. Durwood was an accomplished farmer and rancher, and he owned and operated Ling Market in Doucette. He was also a home builder. He served as a director of Heritage Village for many years. Durwood was a member of Aline Baptist Church, and he built the current church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Estelle Ling, and his parents, Clarence and Ruby Ling.
He is survived by brother, DeWayne Ling and wife, Mary of Doucette; sister, DeLois Griffith of Town Bluff; niece, Angela Waldrep and husband, Keith of Victoria; nephews, Jason Griffith and Brian Griffith of Town Bluff; great nephew, Jacob Waldrep of Victoria; great niece, Olivia Rhoden and husband, Brady of Doucette, great-great niece, Emma Rhoden of Doucette; and a host of other family and friends.
Memorials may be made to Aline Baptist Church at 200 FM 3065 in Colmesneil, Texas.
Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville.
