Eagle Scout project helps Trinity club

TRINITY — A member of Huntsville’s Scout Troop 1934 took on a challenge for the Boys & Girls Club of Walker County-Trinity Site as part of the requirements for a promotion to Eagle Scout.

Annabelle Murra designed and created a carpet ball game to donate to the club.

Carpet ball is a fun tabletop game where players roll balls down a long, carpeted table to knock their opponent’s balls into a recessed pocket. While it may look like simple fun, players will build important skills every time they play.

Through carpet ball, club members can practice hand-eye coordination, strategy, focus, patience, problem-solving, sportsmanship, and social skills — all while laughing, competing and spending time together.

The gift becomes even more special because Murra chose to use her time, talents, and leadership to serve other young people. The project is a wonderful example of what it means to give back and make your community better.

Earning the rank of Eagle Scout is one of the highest achievements in Scouting. It represents years of dedication, leadership, responsibility, perseverance, and, most importantly, service to others. Murra created something the Trinity Club members will enjoy for years to come.
