No one likes to talk about death. However, if one lives long enough, reality sets in.
Someone said what many of us have probably thought from time to time: "It's not that I'm afraid to die - I just don't want to be there when it happens."
We all know that death must come. Hebrews 9:27 says, "It is appointed for men to die once and then comes the judgement."
That one-time appointment with death faces all of us, even if we are God's children. We can laugh about it and make light of it, but it is the one appointment that none of us will miss. We cannot cancel it and we cannot show up late. Occasionally, before it is upon us, we need to talk about it. That is what I want to do in this article.
We will all face the Lord on of these days. We can hope it doesn’t happen, but Christians should anticipate it.
Recently a dear friend passed away. Her last words were Jesus. What would your last words be?
Hopefully, you are a Christian.
