TRINITY — A large fire in a small recreational vehicle was responsible for the death of a Trinity man.

Trinity Fire Chief Keith Johnson said Trinity Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire at approximately 5 a.m. Friday morning.

The first unit on scene reported a camper trailer fully involved with someone possibly inside; Johnson said firefighters extinguished the blaze and located a victim in the trailer.

Johnson, who also serves as Justice of the Peace, pronounced 71-year-old James Barber dead at the scene.

Damage to the building was extensive; Johnson said the fire possibly was caused by a small electrical heater found in the trailer, but could not say for sure because the fire caused too much damage.
