The Polk County Sheriff ’s Office Narcotics Division, in coordination with the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division, continued their ongoing investigation into the illegal sale of narcotics Nov. 5 at 140 Pine Valley Rd. in Livingston.

This investigation follows an operation from Sept. 30, in which 12 occupants and visitors of the same residence were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

During continued surveillance, detectives observed a silver SUV leaving the residence. The vehicle, which had been seen at the location on multiple prior occasions, was stopped for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Lonnie Crew Jr., 38 of Livingston, and the passenger as Nicholas Stone McDaniel, 28 also of Livingston.

A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed approximately one-half ounce of methamphetamine and baggies commonly used for narcotics distribution located in the center console. Both Crew and McDaniel were arrested and charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony.

Upon arrival at the Polk County Jail, McDaniel was found to have concealed an additional five grams of methamphetamine and a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine in his underwear. He received additional charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and prohibited substance in a correctional facility. All three offenses are felonies under Texas law.

Based on information obtained during the investigation, detectives secured a search warrant for the residence at 140 Pine Valley Rd., issued by Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace Jamie Richardson. During the execution of the warrant, homeowner James Phillip Frazier, 59 of Livingston, was found in possession of approximately 25 grams of methamphetamine. Another occupant, Autumn Madeline Hebert, 25 of Livingston, was located inside the residence and found in possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine. Frazier and Hebert were both charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Frazier had previously been warned following the Sept. 30 arrests that continued narcotics activity at his residence would result in the initiation of asset forfeiture proceedings.

In accordance with that warning, narcotics detectives will file an affidavit of seizure and intended forfeiture for the residence, in an effort to protect the Pine Valley neighborhood from ongoing criminal activity.

The Polk County Sheriff ’s Office received information Nov. 6 that the residence located on Pine Valley Drive, which was taped off as a crime scene, had an individual on the property ignoring the posted warnings.

Deputies and narcotics detectives responded to the location. Patrol units located a white male, identified as Robert Shannon Pierce, 47 of Shepherd, walking a short distance from the residence carrying his personal belongings.

Pierce had been arrested the previous day after leaving the same residence and had just been released from jail.

During contact Pierce was found to be in possession of approximately three ounces of methamphetamine, concealed inside a pair of boots he was carrying. When questioned about the drugs, Pierce reportedly told deputies, “Those aren’t my boots.”

Pierce was taken into custody and charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.

Sheriff Byron Lyons and Chief Andy Lowrie would like to remind the public that anyone found trespassing on this or any other property marked and secured as part of an ongoing investigation will be arrested and taken to jail.

Stolen property recovered, multiple arrested, felony warrants issued

Polk County deputies responded to a theft in progress Nov. 4 in the Goodrich area where they located three suspects on the property and began an investigation into the incident.

Detectives became aware of the event as there had been multiple thefts reported from the same property over the weekend. The three suspects located – Christi Leann Coleman, 43 of Cleveland; Lonnie Ray Long, 43 of Cleveland; and Eddie Doolan Jr., 54 of Livingston – were all arrested for burglary of a building and engaging in organized criminal activity.

Detectives were able to obtain evidence linking a fourth suspect, James “J.J.” Grubbs, to the incident as well. During the course of the investigation a tractor and implements previously stolen off of the property were located.

Grubbs was not located on scene and currently has two active felony warrants for burglary of a building and engaging in organized criminal activity. This case is still an active investigation and additional charges are pending.
