Gala was as successful as it was entertaining

Posted

All last week’s events were wonderful. Even the rain did not deter any of the happenings during the weekdays or weekends. Teachers were honored at all campuses, the TISD Fine Arts Department Gala was Oscar worthy, and even Trinity Mothers were blessed with a beautiful day.

Thursday night, May 7, the Trinity High School Fine Arts Gala will be talked about for weeks. “The Spaghetti Western or Mission-Im-Pasta-Ble” was the 4th annual performance by the students of TISD, and it was awesome. The participation by the audience was spectacular.

We are lucky to have such outstanding teachers for the THS Fine Arts Department. Susan Birch and Kaylyn Bennett are unbelievable teachers, and their students love them.

I must tell you how great the printed program bulletin was for this gala’s performance. Every cast and crew member in Spaghetti Western was named for their role in the play or their special effect’s skills. The Jazz Band and choir members were named, the names of the jazz numbers played were given, and the choir solos were awesome.

Even the Art Tour Guide student names were highlighted, and the names of all the High School Art students and Middles School Art Students were mentioned in this program.

Last, but not least, the food and decorations menu was “tastefully” done and captured your attention. However, the most relevant point to this gala was the importance of the students, without them and their teachers none of this would have been possible. We thank you both.

Another important thing you took away from this event was that our youth in Trinity ISD have the opportunity to be successful in everything they try in our schools; and that they have the support of the entire Trinity community. More than 200 people attended this gala not counting the students and showed their support through donations, auctions and ticket sales.

TISD remaining may agenda:

May 20, Scholarship/Award Night 6 p.m.

•Because I attended so many functions last week, I did not get to shop at the First Methodist Church of Trinity’s Rummage sale. I hear it was good, though.

During the Methodist Church rummage sale, they were still able to deliver and cook a delicious Mexican food lunch for the Trinity High School teachers and staff. It was really good. I took a few bites, to make sure it was not hazardous to the teacher’s health and welfare. (LOL.)
