Greg Cowart passed away on 8-20-26 at 12:08 am at HCA Kingwood after a lengthy illness. Greg was born 11-10-1969, in Baytown, Tx to Kirbbie Cowart and Pam Smith.
He worked various jobs throughout his life. He was a truck driver, a logger, an oil well surveyor, a heavy equipment operator, and was called to be an evangelist.
He is survived by his wife of almost 17 years Carol Cowart. Father Kirbbie Cowart (and wife Naomi) of Colmesneil. Mother Pam Smith of Woodville. Sister Valerie Touchstone (and husband Gary) of Colmesneil. Stepsister Tammy Mann, of Dam B. Daughter Amanda Anthony (and husband Fredarrius) of Carthage. Daughter Stephanie Sonheim of Nacogdoches. Son Jacob Cowart (and wife Tristan) of Montgomery, Tx. Son Luke Cowart of Houston, Tx. Stepson Aaron Bassett (and wife Tamara) of Fremont, Ne. Stepdaughter Liana Eilts (and husband Shane) of Dodge, Ne. He also is survived by 22 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by Stepson Colton Flagle, stepfather Autry Smith, stepbrothers Eugene Smith and Derek Brown, grandparents Louis and Elaine Cowart, and grandparents John and Edna Templin.
We will have a Celebration of Life for Greg Cowart on Saturday September 5, 2026 at 2 p.m. At Colmesneil 1st Assembly of God, 601 N. Wheeler, Colmesneil, TX 75938. Brother Andre Oatis, of Donaldsonville, La., will be officiating.
Please have flowers delivered to the church the day of the service.
There will be food and fellowship to follow. Please feel free to bring a dish. Everyone is welcome.
