Joint operation produces arrest

DAM B – A joint operation between agencies resulted in an arrest of a Houston man on multiple charges, related to drugs and money laundering.

According to Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford, the arrest, of 45-year-old Christopher Dewayne Taylor occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 12. Weatherford said the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office, the county’s District Attorney’s office and the Texas Department of Public Safety were conducting an operation on the eastern and southeastern side of Tyler County.

Officers were able to conduct a traffic stop on Taylor, for a moving violation, and while speaking with him, they developed probable cause to search his vehicle. Weatherford said that during a search, the officers discovered approximately 1,289 grams of marijuana; 1,032 grams of methamphetamine; 153 grams of crack cocaine; 108 grams of PCP; a 9-.mm handgun and $2,501 in various denominations, which Weatherford said is consistent with illegal proceeds from the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics.

Taylor was taken into custody and taken to the Tyler County Jail. He was charged with three felony counts of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance; felony marijuana possession; unlawful possession of firearm by felon and felony money laundering. His combined bonds were set at $850K. Records show that Taylor is out of custody of Tyler County.
