Juneteenth at the Sam Houston Center

Commemorate the 160th anniversary of Juneteenth with the Sam Houston Center and theexhibit Juneteenth, opening June 3 and running through July 1. Join us for the exhibit program on Saturday, June 14 when historian Edward T. Cotham Jr. will discuss thehistory of the holiday and his book, Juneteenth: The Story Behind the Celebration.

The Center will also offer a one-time special viewing of historic documents related to local Black history.

2:00 – 4:00 p.m.      Special viewing of historic documents and Juneteenth traveling exhibit on display
