A fast start for the Livingston Lions Friday in Madisonville has propelled them into the regional semifinals, defeating Bullard 70-44.

Livingston began the game on a 17-3 run and also held a lead of 30-6 before Bullard could recover and keep pace.

"We jumped all over them," Livingston coach Sean Berry said of the strong start. "Our game plan going in was to get close and not let them shoot the three.

"We knew we had the advantage in athleticism and speed, so we were really just going at them hard to push the tempo. Every good team that they had lost to was a really good running team."

Ziekus Garner was the top Lion scorer with 24 points. He also provided six rebounds and five steals. T.J. Garner added 17 points, and Ryan Figgs and Zayden Martin had eight each in the win.

Tuesday, the team traveled to Humble to take on Fort Bend Crawford.
