The Livingston Art League held its annual art show and sale Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Livingston. Mayor Judy Cochran gave the Mayor’s Choice Award to Leenie Sawyer for her painting called “Road to Glory.”
This year’s judge was Cheryl Evans. She awarded the Best in Show Award to “Morning Blush” by Peggy Borchers. The Best in Show Youth Award went to Reese Sanders for her drawing “Dog is Forever.” The Wilma Lee Ogletree Best Floral Award was a photograph by Allen Borchers called “Sticky Pink.” The People’s Choice Award was presented to Betsy Steger for her pastel “Blue Bell.”
In the Accomplished Artist division, Rick Matthews won first place in oils/acrylics for “San Jacinto River #2.” Paul Richardson won second for “Glittering Moonlight After a Storm.” Rick Matthews won third for “Cypress Thicket,” first honorable mention for “Tropical Beach Scene #6” and honorable mention for “Shepherdess Leading Her Flock.”
In the Accomplished Artist division watercolor/acrylic, Rick Matthews won first place with “Marsh Sunrise” and second place with “Muddy Creek.” Paul Richardson won third place for “Two Lovebirds.” Rick Matthews won first honorable mention for “Fresh Driftwood.”
In the Accomplished Artist division in mixed media, Jim Newsome won first place for “I’m Listening.” In the Accomplished Artist division for photography, Jim Newsome won first place for “Guest in the Grapevine” and second place for “Mushrooms.”
In the Established Artist division oil/acrylic, Lila Dudley won first place for “Mountain Air” and second place for “My Favorite Fruit.” Celeste Wiliamson won third place for “Koda II” and first honorable mention for “Hydrangeas.” Lila Dudley won honorable mention for “He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not.”
In the Established Artist division for watercolor/acrylic, Denise Cribbet won first place for “Flood Waters” and second place for “Butterfly in Sunflowers.” Larry Kelner won third place for “Storm Over Sonora.” Denise Cribbet won first honorable mention for “Cabin in the Spring” and honorable mention for “Misty Morning.”
In Accomplished Artist pastels, Betsy Steger won first place and People’s Choice for “Blue Belle.” Cory Mejia won second place for “Blushing Coquette.” Betsy Steger won third place for “The Swan.” Cory Mejia won first honorable mention for “Oscar the Small White Chihuahua.”
In the Established Artist mixed media division, Lila Dudley won first place for “The Old Mill.” Cory Mejia won second place for “Follow the Leader.” Lila Dudley won third place for “Cheap Rent” and first honorable mention for “Autumn Leaves.”
In the Emerging Artist watercolor division, Peggy Borchers won first place and Best in Show for “Morning Blush,” second place for Blue Iris, and 3rd place for Blue Door. For the Emerging Artist drawing division Peggy Borchers won first place for “Small World Disney ’24” and Allen Borchers won second place for “De Plane.”
In Emerging Artist mixed media, Diane Simser won first place for “Sunshine Coast,” second place for “Self Portrait Number 2,” and third place for “Cooper.” Debbie Phillips won first honorable mention for “Petroglyphs.”
In Emerging Artist photography, Debbie Phillips won first place for “Grand Canyon Survivor.” Allen Borchers won second place and Wilma Lee Ogletree Best Floral Award for “Sticky Pink,” third place for “Columbine Dance,” and first honorable mention for “Snowball Red.” Debbie Phillips won honorable mention for “Grand Canyon viewpoint.”
In Emerging Artist digital art, Debbie Phillips won first place for “Crimson Clover” and second place for “Dinosaur Tracks.”
In Emerging Artist studio and fine craft, Janet Hutchinson won first place for “Ridley.”
For Novice Artist oil/acrylic Carla Halunen won first place for “Reflections of Jane.” Lennie Sawyer won second place and Mayor’s Choice Award for “Road to Glory” and third place for “Checking for Amazon,” first honorable mention for “Bucket of Gold” and honorable mention for “River’s Edge.”
In Novice Artist watercolor/acrylic, Alice Newman won first place for “Winsome Window.” In Novice Artist mixed media Alice Newman won first place for “Tide Pool,” second place for “Galletas Del Mar,” third place for “Poppies” and first honorable mention for “Flower Bells.”
In the Youth Division, middle school oil/ acrylic Emma Ghaemmaghami won first place for “The Blue Lagoon.” Jolee Blau won second place for “The Boat at Night.” Emma Ghaemmaghami won third place for “The Life Circle of a Butterfly” and first honorable mention for “Sunset Falls.”
In Middle School drawing, Jolee Blau won first place for “The Owl of Harry.” Luke Wardrup won second place for “Mini Art.” In Elementary School drawing Reese Sanders won first place and Best in Show Youth Award for “Dog is Forever.” Sadee Blau won second place for “Lightning Strike.” Kaylee Jenssen won third place for “Mirror of the Eye.” Reese Sanders won first honorable mention for “Fire Eye.” Sadee Blau won honorable mention for “Calm Colors.” Lily Martin won honorable mention for “The Emo Girl.” Sadee Blau won honorable mention for “The Calm Place.” Russell Stanley won honorable mention for “The Eye” and also “The Man.”
In Elementary School mixed media, Paislee Riley won first place for “Roller Time,” second place for “Fall Break” and third place for “Element Eye.”
