Lola May Lowe Barraque, 83, of Ivanhoe, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. She was born on September 20, 1942, to Thelma Dugas Lowe and David "Buck" Lowe, in Beaumont. Lola was a devoted wife to her husband, Carl Barraque, whom she married on August 8, 1969.

Through her life she had many careers.  First, she helped care for her younger siblings while also helping with the family farm. Next, she was a stay-at-home mom as she had four children in five years and the youngest came along several years later.  Then, she worked for one of her favorite bosses at Wilson's in Sour Lake. After taking a break from work she then went to work at Don's Seafood where she worked as the hostess/cashier and remained there for over twenty years. Leaving Don's she went to work for her favorite boss again at King Saver as an office assistant. Deciding to be more adventurous she trained to become a truck driver, so she could travel with her husband cross country. Finally, she became a bus driver for twenty-three years transporting special needs students in the Warren ISD. Some might say she spoiled those children with snacks and drink boxes on the way home from school.

For recreation she and her husband travelled on motorcycle with a Christian motorcycle club. There they made many lifelong friends and enjoyed the open roads and beautiful scenery. Another form of enjoyment was to frequent estate sales where she found many treasures.

Survivors include her husband Carl Barraque; her brother Philip Lowe, of Crossett, Arkansas; children, Donna Shannon and her husband, Frank, of Silsbee; Jo Jacobson of Silsbee; Paula Grana and her husband, Bob, of Cedar Park, Kay Milberger and her husband, Will, of Bryan; Carl Barraque II and his wife, Robbie, of LaBelle; grandchildren, Bridget Tidwell and her husband, Darren, of Lake Jackson; Corey Shannon and his wife, Tami, of Katy; Brandis Harris of Orange; John Grana and his wife, Hayley, of Lockhart; Heather Evans and her husband, Rob of Bryan; Josh Barraque and his wife, Brittany of Vidor; Garrett Barraque and his wife, Madi, of Beaumont; great grandchildren, Henry Tidwell, Jane Claire Tidwell, Sophie Shannon, Ryker Shannon, Tiernan Legendre, Brylee Roebuck, Trystan Harris, Jackson Harris, Becky Franks, Laura Grana, John Grana, Simeon Evans, Ruthie Evans, Kyleigh Barraque, and Grady Barraque.
