Marvin Joseph Amlin was born July 23, 1939 in Bascom, Ohio and passed away at the age of 87 on August 20, 2026 in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Amlin is survived by his wife of 66 years, Shirley Amlin of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Sheri Baxter and Ricky of Lampasas, Texas; son, Ross Amlin and Deanna of Livingston, Texas; son, Joseph Amlin and Rexann of Bayfield, Colorado; grandchildren, Amber Linn and Spencer of Huntsville, Texas; Stephen Amlin of Livingston, Texas; Michael Ryan Lee Baxter of Midland, Texas; two brothers, Merle Amlin and Peggy of Florida and Kent Amlin and Fanny of Ohio; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Laverne Amlin and Alice (Sperow) Amlin, and child, Michael Thomas Amlin.
Mr. Amlin served four years in the Air Force as an aircraft electrician with the Strategic Air Command. He drove a truck for 32 years, owning his own trucking company for the last 16. Together, Marvin and Shirley owned and operated Kickapoo Car Wash in Onalaska for 22 years and had their own real estate business for 14 years. Marvin was extremely proud to serve on the Board of Directors of Eastex Telephone Cooperative for over 31 years.
The Amlin family moved to Pok County, raised their children, entertained friends, enjoyed boat rides and sunsets from their home of 49 years on Lake Livingston. Mr. Amlin’s boisterous personality will be missed by his family, his friends and acquaintances.
