No surprise that Texas heat carries challenges

Posted

Today is June 15, and I am sitting here wondering how we are going to survive July and August without dying of thirst. The rain will stop shortly, but the heat will make us feel like we are in the Gobi Desert.

We old people can stand the heat better than the young, but what we cannot stand is the “in and out” of our cars when getting from place A to B.

Is it worth the effort to go to places where you must get in an oven, wait 30 minutes for your car to cool down, 10 minutes for you to cool down, and then go inside to dry out to enjoy whatever event you are attending or errand you are running?

Then when your mission is accomplished, you must get out again, go back inside the oven in your car; get it cooled down for another 30 minutes, and try to cool off before you get back home.

After sweating, getting dried or cooled off, repeating the action again, is it really worth the effort to go places or run errands in the summer? I say not. The only place to be in the summer is at a nudist beach (no clothes) or maybe visiting Alaska during the winter months.
