COLDSPRING —Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a one-vehicle fatality crash on Lakeview Drive north of Coldspring that occurred Wednesday.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 3:27 p.m., a Nissan Armada was backing out of a private drive. It is reported that the Nissan lost control while reversing, struck a pole, and overturned onto its right side.
The driver of the Nissan, 74-year-old Cedell Goffney of Coldspring, was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Justice of the Peace. Two passengers, 77-year-old David Goffney of Coldspring and 18-year-old Shani’ya Goffney of Coldspring, were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital The Woodlands for possible non-life-threatening injuries.
