The Livingston Police Department was made aware of possible fraud involving a member of a Livingston ISD parent teacher organization on Sept. 11.

LPD detectives, along with the Texas Rangers, began an investigation into the allegations which revealed that the suspect, 40-year-old Matthew Anderson of Livingston, allegedly falsified PTO bank statements for personal financial gain.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant Tuesday, charging Anderson with forgery to obtain property or service greater than $2,500 but less than $30,000. Anderson was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail.

As this investigation is ongoing, detectives would like to identify any other individuals, businesses, or organizations that may have been victimized or have information related to Anderson.

If you believe you or your organization may be a victim, or if you have information that may help, please contact LPD or your local law enforcement agency.
