Robert Alfred Erdmann passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025 with his sons by his side. A proud Vietnam veteran, Robert served his country with honor and courage.
Robert had a deep passion for NASCAR and loved spending time at the races, especially while camping in the infield at tracks across the country. Talladega was his favorite, where he made countless memories with his sons and grandsons.
An avid outdoorsman, Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing and the simple joys of country living. A talented mechanic, he loved building engines and working on his old cars and motorcycles, his hands always busy bringing something back to life.
Robert is preceded in death by his mother, Norma O’Connor; his brother, Jimmy O’Connor; his sisters, Patty Holton and Sandra Spurling; his firstborn infant son, Robert Alfred Erdmann Jr; his daughter, Tammy Owens; and his grandsons, Cassidy Davis and Kyle Owens.
He is survived by his sons, Chris Erdmann and wife Holly, and Ron Erdmann and wife Courtney; his siblings, Carol Tharrington, Eddie O’Connor, Lorraine Denney and husband Ron, Ronnie O’Connor and wife Betty, and Debbie O’Connor and wife Becky; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Kayla Owens, Brooke Daughtery and husband Andrew, Andrew Erdmann, Keaton Erdmann, Dylan Erdmann, Dayne Erdmann and Darin Erdmann; and his great-grandson Maddux Daughtery.
A graveside service will be held in Robert’s honor on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the Holly Grove Cemetery in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Mike Loftin officiating. Visitation will be held on the day of service from 1-2 p.m. at the cemetery.
