With great sadness, we announce the passing of Roberta Jenelle Hans on March 12, 2025. Jenelle was born in Concordia, Kansas on October 16, 1949, to Robert and Cleo Stone and older sister, Kathryn Stone. While spending much of her childhood in WaKeeney, Kansas, Jenelle graduated from Hays High School in Hays, Kansas as a proud member of the class of 1967.
After spending some time in Wichita, Jenelle moved to Denver, where she met her future husband, Robert “Bob” Hans. They married in 1978 and built a beautiful life together, raising their two sons, Jordan and Christian. Their journey took them from Colorado to Hawaii, back to Colorado, then Livingston, Texas. In 2017, Bob and Jenelle moved to Corpus Christi to be closer to their grandchildren. Eventually joined by Christian, the family was together again.
Jenelle was, above all, a devoted mother. She fiercely protected and cherished her sons, always their greatest champion. Her love and unwavering support provided them with a sense of security that will be forever missed.
For many years, Jenelle kept friends and family updated on the family doings and whereabouts with humorous and poetic Christmas letters. While these annual updates faded, her wit endured. She kept family entertained at family reunions and holiday gatherings with stories of her various adventures. In recent years, these adventures included riding a camel in Cairo, dining on a river boat in Prague, experiencing the thrill of indoor skydiving, and seeing Three Dog Night in concert just four months ago.
Jenelle passed peacefully at home, surrounded by her boys – Bob, Jordan and Christian. She leaves behind a legacy of love and unforgettable memories, carried on by her husband, Bob; her sons, Jordan and Christian; her sister, Kathryn Stone; her daughter-in-law, Sarah; her cherished grandchildren, Vivian and Solomon; her sisters-in-law, Debra Bennett and Donna Anderson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jenelle’s presence brought joy, laughter and a touch of mischief to those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.
Services will be held at First Methodist Church of Livingston at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025. In lieu of flowers, Jenelle had requested donations to the local ASPCA or other animal rescue.
