Sandra Ruth Hendrix of Westwood Shores, Trinity, Texas passed away April,13, 2026, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.

Born in Crockett, Texas on April 30, 1937, and raised in Lovelady, Sandra was the beloved daughter of the late Oliver Houston Stansel and Edith Estelle Price. She was preceded in death by her parents and her devoted husband of 59 years, Tom Frank Hendrix.

She is survived by her children, Brian Hendrix and Allison Kiker (and husband, Aaron); grandchildren, Reese Kiker, Heath Kiker, and Hannah Wade (and husband, Justin); and a precious great-grandson, Maddox Wade. Sandra also leaves behind her sister, Mary Allen; brother, Harold Stansel (and wife, Linda); and sister-in-law, Catherine Fleming. Her extended family includes numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends, all of whom will deeply miss her warmth and generosity.

Sandra enjoyed picking and shelling peas and was also known for her love of picking blackberries, sometimes turning her harvest into either a delicious cobbler or freezing them to enjoy later with milk and sugar. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, ultimately becoming famous for her chicken and dumplings, turkey and dressing, homemade fudge, toffee candy, and her signature fresh apple cake. Sandra also found joy in the challenge and camaraderie of the game of Bridge.

A devoted member of River of Life Church in Trinity, Sandra’s faith and commitment to her community were unwavering.

Her faith, kindness, culinary talents, and loving spirit will always be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
