Sarah Lee Parker, 83, of Livingston, Texas, passed away on January 13, 2025, in Junction, Texas. She was born on August 13, 1941, in Livingston, Texas to John Robert Lee and Norma Roberds. Sarah lived a life filled with love, devotion, and faith, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Sarah was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roy Olen “Butch” Parker; her sons, David Luke Robertson and Mark Allen Robertson; her grandson, Rhett Robertson; her parents; and her sisters, Dorothy Barringer and Bobbie Rodeman.
She is survived by her sons, Barry Robertson and wife Karyn “Nene,” John Robertson III and wife Nancy, and Randy Robertson; her daughter, Tonda Hawkins; her grandchildren, Matthew Robertson and wife Lexie, Joseph Robertson and wife Shelby, John Robertson IV, Andrew Robertson and wife Abbie, Anthony Robertson and wife Emily, Kira Robertson and husband Corey, Dirk Robertson, Dillon Robertson, Patrick Turner and wife Kacie, Lyndsay Barclay and husband Seth, Waylon Robertson, David Hawkins, and Justin Hawkins. Sarah also leaves behind many great-grandchildren, a sister, Linda Garner, as well as numerous other relatives and close friends.
Sarah’s family was her greatest joy, and she dedicated her life to nurturing and loving those around her. As a mother, she was a constant source of comfort, guidance, and unconditional love. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren, always offering a listening ear, a kind word, and the warmest embrace. Her home was a place of refuge and celebration, filled with laughter, love, and the comforting aroma of meals shared together. She often said, “love you big,” a simple phrase that captured the depth of her affection and will forever echo in the hearts of her family. Sarah’s legacy lives on in the values she instilled in her family—kindness, strength, resilience, and the importance of faith and family. She was also incredibly proud of her many years of dedicated service at Sam Houston Electric Co-op, where she retired after a long and fulfilling career. Sarah’s work there was a source of pride, and her commitment to her job reflected the same dedication and work ethic that she demonstrated in her personal life. She touched the lives of everyone she met with her generosity and compassion, and her memory will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was the heart of her family, and her love will continue to guide them for generations to come.
A funeral service to celebrate Sarah’s life will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Bryan Richardson will officiate, and interment will follow at Center Grove Cemetery in Livingston. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. at Cochran Funeral Home, prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Robertson, Joseph Robertson, John Robertson IV, Andrew Robertson, Anthony Robertson, Dirk Robertson, Dillon Robertson, Patrick Turner, and Waylon Robertson. Honorary Pallbearers are Barry Robertson, John Robertson III, and Randy Robertson.
