Scams, thefts keeping sheriff’s office busy

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has received numerous complaints from citizens regarding an ongoing scam. The complainants advised they have received calls from individuals identifying themselves as officials from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

If you have received a call from an individual identifying himself as Billy Stiles with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, this is a scam.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office will never call an individual and advise that they have warrants or a citation for their arrest.

Stolen tractor near Highway 190

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office recently received a report of stolen property. A Kubota L3400 tractor with a black Modern Ag brush hog attached was stolen from a residence on Midway Loop East.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance for information about the suspect(s) involved.

Tractor attachment stolen in Blanchard

A 48-inch Bad Boy grapple tractor implement was reported stolen from a residence on FM 2457 in the Blanchard area recently.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a 2003-2005 Dodge Ram dually, red in color. At the time of the theft, the suspects were pulling a red car hauler style lowboy trailer.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has requested the public’s assistance with any information about the suspect(s) involved.
