DAM B – Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford reported that a recent suspected incident of public intoxication led to an arrest for narcotics.
Weatherford said that the incident occurred on the afternoon of Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Dam B/Town Bluff area at the Harris Grocery store. “Deputies were made aware of a possible intoxicated male individual,” Weatherford said, in the store’s parking lot.
The subject, identified as William Louis Conkle, age 40, of Silsbee. The deputies who responded to the complaint on Conkle spoke with him and observed a glass pipe laying on the center console of his vehicle.
Weatherford said the deputies discovered a clear, plastic baggie containing a white, crystalline substance inside of Conkle’s vehicle during a search. The substance field-tested positive for methamphetamines.
Conkle was taken into custody and transported to the Tyler County Jail where he was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace Tina Self set Conkle’s bond at $10,000.
