“Friends and neighbors – my name is Mark David Smith, and I am happy to announce my candidacy for commissioner of Precinct 2 here in Polk County, Texas.
“I am a third-generation Polk Countian, a 1982 graduate of Livingston High School, and a 1989 graduate of Sam Houston State University with a bachelor of business administration degree.
“I began working as a child with my father in the sand and gravel production and delivery business in Onalaska. Later, I worked in ready-mix concrete, and currently work with crushed concrete for commercial and residential projects. I have over 45 years of experience in management and finances. I have extensive knowledge of road construction and truck and equipment maintenance, which will be invaluable in my service as your county commissioner for Precinct 2.
“I look forward to working with you.”
