Stolen vehicle found in Onalaska

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a stolen vehicle out of Harris County found to be in the Onalaska area last week.

Deputies quickly responded to the scene and located the vehicle. Upon initiating a traffic stop, the driver fled and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle was located in the Wells Landing area abandoned. Deputies and detectives began searching the area and investigating the incident. Two subjects who police say were in the vehicle have been identified as Christopher Robertson Brick and Brandon Michael Dunaway. It is also believed that Delray Tolar was involved.

Dunaway was located and taken into custody, while Brick and Tolar are believed to be in the Wells Landing or Bentwood Bend area. Both have outstanding warrants.

This is an ongoing and active investigation with no further details released at this time. The PCSO recognized the Onalaska Police Department, Texas DPS Highway Patrol, Polk County Constable Pct. 1, Texas Department of Criminal Justice and Office of the Inspector General for all their assistance.

Dunaway, 22, of Livingston, was charged with evading arrest with vehicle, evading arrest with a previous conviction, theft of firearm, credit card abuse, and unauthorized use of vehicle. His bonds total $130,000. Brick, 42, of Livingston, was charged with possession of firearm by a felon and evading arrest. With bonds totaling $23,000, he has since been released.
