“My name is Megan Swander and I am proud to formally announce my candidacy for Polk County district clerk. I am a lifelong resident of Polk County and a 2007 graduate of Livingston High School.
“I earned my associate’s degree in criminal justice from Angelina College and have proudly served the citizens of Polk County for nearly 11 years. My career with the county began in the district attorney’s office, where I worked as a legal secretary/trial associate for eight years.
“For the past almost three years, I have served as a court clerk in the district clerk’s office, where I continue to expand my knowledge and dedication to public service.
“Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a strong commitment to accuracy, integrity and public service – qualities that are essential for managing our court records and supporting the judicial system.
“I am committed to continuing to serve you, the people of Polk County, with integrity, transparency, dedication, fairness, respect and accountability. With your support, I will work every day to make the district clerk’s office a model of efficiency, accessibility and trust.
“It would be an honor to earn your trust and your vote as your next district clerk.”
