For instance, a garage sale on Sept. 26, for all to sale, to donate, or to purchase items will be held at the VFW Hall on Caroline Street.

On Oct. 31 they are hosting a Halloween Celebration Trunk or Treat for the kids. For both adults and kids there is a costume contest, and a coloring contest. For adults only there is a vehicle contest and a dance.

An addition in November to their usual veteran’s holiday events is a chili and barbecue cook-off on Nov. 2. The event will start at 10 a.m. and last until 4 p.m.

On Dec. 31, They will host a New Year’s Eve Party from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. There will be a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. The cost is $25 per person or $40 per couple. For more information on these events, please call (936) 327-9135.
