A small fire at a popular Livingston eatery was extinguished quickly with minimal damage Monday night off Highway 190.
Pueblo Viejo, located at 4562 U.S. 190, suffered a bit of smoke damage and electrical issues in the incident.
Apparently, some of the outdoor lighting had a short in it,” LVFD Assistant Chief John Haynes said. “It set a rafter on fire there. There wasn’t much to it, but we put in a good bit of time making sure it hadn’t extended anywhere into the building. We opened up a few areas and took a good look, got all the smoke out, and that was about it.”
There were no injuries and Haynes mentioned the electrical circuit with a short would need to be located.
Many emergency vehicles arrived from three departments, in what Haynes called “an abundance of caution,” with volunteers from Onalaska and Scenic Loop on the scene with Livingston.
