“My name is Jennifer Woods, and I am running for Polk County Clerk because I believe in serving our community with integrity, professionalism, and a strong commitment to transparency. The county clerk’s office plays a vital role in the daily lives of our residents, and my experience has prepared me to manage these responsibilities with accuracy, dedication, and respect for the people of Polk County.

“My career as an insurance agent for the last five years has trained me to work with complex paperwork, legal documents, and detailed regulatory requirements. Every day, I handle sensitive information that must be completed correctly, safely, and confidentially. I take pride in guiding individuals and families through important and sometimes emotional situations, and this experience directly relates to the clerk’s responsibilities in issuing birth and death certificates, marriage licenses, property deeds, and other vital records. Accuracy and compassion matter in these moments, and I bring both.

“I also served as recording secretary for over a year, a role that has given me hands-on experience with maintaining official records and ensuring transparency. I prepare accurate minutes, organize documentation, and track important decisions — skills that closely mirror the work done in the county clerk’s office. I understand the importance of clear, dependable, and accessible records, and I am committed to preserving Polk County’s history through responsible record keeping.

“As vice president of the Republican Club for the last year and a half, I have strengthened my leadership abilities and deepened my involvement in the community. I have coordinated volunteers and conducted meetings. I am passionate about protecting voting integrity and ensuring our elections are run fairly, accurately, and openly. I also believe strongly in supporting the hardworking election workers who make our elections possible.

“If elected, I will focus on improving efficiency, modernizing systems, and making our records more accessible to the public. My goals include digitizing historical documents, improving customer service, and ensuring that every visitor to the clerk’s office is treated with respect and professionalism.

“I believe in hard work, honesty, and doing exactly what I say I will do. I am ready to bring these values to the Polk County Clerk’s Office and serve our community with dedication and pride.”
