Carter Miller, 82, of Colmesneil, Texas, passed away Friday, March 27, 2026 on Lake Amanda in Colmesneil, Texas.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville.

A celebration of Carter’s life will be announced at a later date.

Carter was born January 21, 1944, to J. Carter Miller Sr. and Helen Dillen Miller in Hammond, Indiana.  A former resident of Tomball, he had lived on Lake Amanda in Colmesneil for the past 6 years.  Carter was a former president of Montgomery County Search and Rescue.  He was the owner of Hydra-Dynamics, a fluid power company for many years, and spent much of his life working in the fluid power field.  He was a member of Tejas Road Baptist Church in Colmesneil where he served as a deacon and was active in their food ministry.  He brought joy to everyone he met.

He is preceded in death by his parents, J. Carter Miller Sr. and Helen Dillen Miller.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Phyllis Miller of Colmesneil; sons, Todd Miller and wife Raney of Bloomington, Illinois, and Geoff Miller and wife Sharon of Glenview, Illinois; daughters, Crystal Orasco and Nicole Rowse; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
