Clint J. Owens, 80, of Woodville, passed away on March 19, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Born October 21, 1944, in Beaumont, Texas, he lived in Woodville most of his life.  In his younger years, Clint worked ranches, hauling cattle, and rodeo with the love of his life, Elaine, by his side.  He retired as a heavy equipment operator.  After retiring, he turned the love of his bird dog training into a successful business where he was known far and wide.  Avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his true enjoyment was his grandkids and great-grandkids.  Clint’s sense of humor was always relevant in giving nicknames to everyone he met.

Clint was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Lillie Owens.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Owens; son, Benny Owens and wife Bonnie of Fred; daughter Missy Tolbert and husband Gary of Woodville; grandchildren Blake Carpenter, Kullen Wheeler, Ethan Owens, Haley Tolbert, and Lillie Tolbert; great-grandchildren Addison, Weston, Serenity, and Scarlett; brother Pat Owens and a host of other family members and friends.

The funeral service was held Monday, March 24, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Larry Trest officiating. Burial will follow at the Campground Cemetery in Woodville. Visitation will be held Monday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mike Riley, Carl Wayne Swinney, Keith Fuller, Jeff Johnston, Gary Tolbert, and David Tolbert served as pallbearers.

Services are held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home, Woodville. 253
