Frances "Frankie" Martin, 91, of Colmesneil, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at CHI St. Luke’s Hospital in Lufkin, Texas.

The Divine Mercy Chaplet will begin 9 a.m. followed by a Rosary. Visitation will begin 10 a.m.  Funeral Mass will begin 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church in Woodville. Burial will begin at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2026 in the Houston National Cemetery.  Officiating will be Father Rodel Faller.

Frances was born August 16, 1934 to Bernard Francis and Mildred Luise Lewis Flynn in Portland, Oregon.  She was a U.S. Navy veteran having served as a Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class from 1953 – 1955.  A longtime resident of Colmesneil, she had been owner/operator of Martin Hardware for over 30 years. She was a founding member of Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church in Woodville where she had served on the parish counsel, finance committee, altar society, and founder of the Sugar Easter Eggs.  Frances was a former member of the Colmesneil Lion’s Club and Zavalla PTA.  She was a member of the Disabled American Veteran’s Chapter 42.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Luise Flynn; daughter, Tammy Martin; brother, Thomas Flynn; and sister, Barbara Sheridan.

She is survived by her sons, Stephen Martin of Irving, and Scott Martin and wife Michelle of Colmesneil; daughters, Diane Sanderson of Colmesneil, Lysanne McCreary of Colmesneil, and Dixie Blackknights of Stevenson, WA; brother, Daniel Flynn and wife Mary of Portland, OR; sisters, Sr. Joan Flynn of Lake Oswego, OR, Donna McCormick and husband Patrick of Lake Oswego, OR, Joycelyn Basaraba of Portland, OR, Anita Hoyt of Santa Rosa, CA, and Julie McLeod and husband Dennis of Milwaukie, OR; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
