Geneva Catherine Grimes, 87, of Lufkin, Texas, was born on October 9, 1938, in Camden, Texas, and passed away on November 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at First Baptist Church Family Life Center in Corrigan, Texas.  Officiating will be Brother Larry Trest.

She grew up in East Texas and attended Chester High School, where she played basketball and

proudly served as the drum major in the school band. These early experiences shaped her into the

strong, dedicated, and spirited woman she became.

After high school, she made her home in Diboll, where she raised her family and spent the majority of her adult life. She answered a lifelong calling to care for others by becoming a registered nurse.  Throughout her career she worked in several areas of nursing, serving her community with skill and compassion. She was the plant nurse for Temple Industries in Diboll and later embraced the adventure of traveling nursing, taking her across the United States and touching the lives of many patients and families along the way.

Following her retirement, she enjoyed peaceful days spent fishing and exploring the outdoors with her husband, Jerry. She cherished time with her grandchildren above all else, finding joy in watching them grow and sharing stories, laughter, and love with them.

She was an avid reader with a deep love of the Bible, and she took great pleasure in reading and

discussing scripture. Her faith was a steady presence in her life and a source of comfort and strength for those who knew her.

She will be remembered for her caring heart, her resilience, her devotion to her family, and the many lives she touched through her nursing career and her gentle, unwavering kindness.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Laura Fuller; husband of 27 years, Jerry Grimes; sister, Bonnie Holsomback; stillborn child, Laura Lee Jordan; and stillborn grandchild, Chloe Jordan.

She is survived by her daughter, Mitzi Beetham and husband Chris of Lufkin; son, Bruce Jordan of Lufkin; brother, Calvin Fuller of Corrigan, sister, Elaine Duvall and husband George of Corrigan; grandchildren, Grace Beetham, Brandon Jordan, Jake Jordan, Hunter Beetham, and Alison Brocklebank; and 4 great grandchildren.

Cremation services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas. 392
