Margaret Yvonne Putnam, 81, of Spurger, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026 in Spurger.
A graveside service was held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, June 8, 2026 at Beech Creek Cemetery in Spurger. Officiating was Margaret’s great-nephew, Pastor Ed Rawls.
Margaret was born January 14, 1945 to William Lester and Bertha Adkins Richards in Jasper. She was a former resident of Vidor and Woodville and had lived in Spurger for 25 years. She attended school in Jasper and specialized in Mawmaw/MiMi spoiling. She enjoyed painting, gardening, dolls, and playing the organ. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Lester Richards and mother, Bertha Richards; all of her brothers and sisters; and husband of 27 years, Harry Lee Putnam Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Grant and husband John of Spurger; son, Billy Mott of Spurger; grandchildren, Brittany Clark and husband, Josh, Miranda Grant and husband, William: great grandchildren, Arabella Rose Clark, Luna Theia Clark, and Rowan Anders Clark.

Services were under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
