Nelda Johnston, of Woodville, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024, at the age of 91 in the comfort of her niece’s home in Maricopa, AZ, surrounded by loved ones.
A longtime resident of Woodville, Nelda was known for her fierce love of the Lord. Nelda found joy in painting landscapes and Texas themes, often sharing her work as a gift from the heart.
In April 2022, she moved into her niece’s home, where her days were filled with love, conversation, and treasured time with deep conversations with her family.
In tribute to her life, some of her ashes were spread along the shores of Galveston, beside her beloved sister Delle Flanders. The remainder were released at Lake Rayburn, near the place affectionately called “The Boathouse”. Both gatherings, attended by close friends and family, were reflections of the places and people that brought Nelda happiness.
May she rest in peace, rejoicing in heaven with her son, parents, and four siblings.
