Peggy Sue Taylor, 93, of Warren, passed away Monday, May 11, 2026 at Woodville Health & Rehab Center in Woodville, Texas.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026 at Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville, Texas. Officiating will be Brother Larry Staggs and Brother Ed King.
Peggy was born December 31, 1932 to Otto and Nancy Millie Russell Smith in Little Hope, Texas. A native of Lufkin, she was a 1949 graduate of Lufkin High School. She went on to receive her Master’s in education from Stephen F. Austin State College. She taught in Woodville, Lufkin and Warren schools for over 25 years. She enjoyed raising African violets and was recognized by the Beaumont African Violet Club for her outstanding violets.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Smith; husband of over 58 years, Jasper Hails “Doc” Taylor; son, William Kyle Taylor; brother and sister-in-law, Otto Jr. and Dovie Smith.
She is survived by her sons, Hails Randal Taylor of Warren, and Zachary Todd Taylor of West Richland, Washington; grandchildren, Emily Anne Taylor, Sarah Elizabeth Taylor, and Nathan Kyle Taylor.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville.
