Richard Hall Kean, 88, of Hillister, passed away on February 25, 2025.
Born in Redbank, Tennessee, to Delmon and Marie Kean, he was a graduate of Redbank High School. He joined the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country. After being discharged from the Air Force, he worked for NASA for thirteen years. After a short stint with Texas Instruments, he formed his own company, MTS (Machine Tool Specialty), and eventually retired from Bruderer in Huntsville. After his retirement, he and the love of his life, his wife, Wanda, traveled until she became ill. He eventually settled in Hillister where he became his granddaughter, Amanda’s biggest fan. He loved his family with his whole heart.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Delmon and Marie Kean; his wife, Wanda Kean; his son, David Kean; and his daughter-in-law, Joyce Kean.
His loving family survives him: sons Timothy Kean and Patrick Kean; granddaughter Amanda Jordan; grandson Daniel Kean; seven great-grandchildren; sister Pat Bowlin and husband Chester; and a host of other family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 2 p.m. with visitation from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the Riley Funeral Home chapel.
