Roselee “Rose” (Tidwell) Coburn, 82, of Colmesneil, passed away on December 6, 2024, at home surrounded by her loved ones. Rose was born January 7, 1942, in Linden, Texas, to Wesley and Emma (Stanton) Tidwell. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She was born the seventh of eight children and she spent her adolescent years in Hooks, Texas. Throughout her life she maintained various jobs as well as being a homemaker. Rose loved gardening as well as arts and crafts. Her hands were rarely still as she was always crocheting something or tending to her garden in her free time.
Rose married Joseph “Bud” Haggard, who preceded her in death, in 1962. Together, they had six children: Vickey Ort of Conroe, TX; Arvis Haggard of Colmesneil, Texas; Pamela St. Peter of Colmesneil, Texas; Jeffrey Haggard of Colmesneil, Texas; Clifford Haggard of Colmesneil, TX; and Lynda Clancy of Colmesneil, Tx.
Rose found love for a second time and married Malcolm “Mac” Coburn on June 28, 1993, in Angleton, Tx. They were married for twenty-one years until his passing in 2014.
Rose is survived by daughter Vickey, son Arvis, daughter Pamela, son Jeffrey and his wife Lorrie, son, Clifford and his wife Debra, daughter Lynda and her husband Michael, her brother Hershel Tidwell, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Emma Tidwell; her first husband, Joseph Haggard; her second husband, Mac Coburn; her brothers Luther, Walter, and George; her sisters, Blanche Kelsey, Norma Jean Huey, and Ruthie Lee Tidwell, her granddaughter Emily and her grandson, Steven, Jr.
Rose was a member of the First Baptist Church in Colmesneil. Visitation was held Tuesday, December 10, 2024, from 10 am until 12 pm at the Colmesneil Baptist Church. The funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at noon at the First Baptist Church in Colmesneil. Brother Joey Brent officiated. Burial followed in the Colmesneil City Cemetery.
Services are held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home, Woodville. 346
