In describing someone's attitude, it was said they had a sweet spirit. I have met many people like that. They are kindhearted. And God knows we need more people with that type of attitude.
I don't know about you, but I like being around people who have that sweet spirit.
The people I am describing never seem to get upset. They never seem to worry for themselves. And they care for others. They just have such a sweet spirit.
Could it be that's what attracted so many to Jesus? To be sure, some just wanted a little bit of Him. But many wanted to be like Him and many still desire to be like Him.
People are not normally attracted to hateful people. In fact, most of us want to avoid such.
What would really turn our world around? Certainly, politicians can't or won't. Most of them have an agenda that is anything but kind. Most, if not all, do not have a sweet spirit.
So, the only thing I know to do is to look to the Lord Himself. Our Lord had a sweet spirit!
Children love those with a sweet spirit. Just read Mark 10:14 when Jesus said, “…Let the little children come to Me. Don’t stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.”
God help us to recognize that only He has the words of eternal life. Only He has the answer to happiness. Only He has the solution to our problems.
"Let us try to emulate His sweet spirit!"
