Before it’s too late

Posted

I remember the first funeral I attended. There was a lot of crying and a lot of remorse. Unspoken words like saying, “I’m sorry” needed to be said, but it was too late.

Now granted, an eight and half-year-old boy didn’t understand everything that was going on. But sixty-nine years later I can still remember the various expressions of grief.

Is there someone you need to say “I’m sorry” to or is there someone you need to make things right with? Think about, please!

This past week I have encountered so many who have died suddenly. It may have been an automobile accident, or it may have been a sudden heart attack that caused the death. The person who passed away may have been young or old.

Would you please consider the following passages?

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”  (Matthew 16:24)

What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?(Matthew 16:26)

Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money."  (James 4:13)

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14)

Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." (James 4:15)
