Have you noticed the changes as you drive through Trinity and our Trinity neighborhoods? I have. The City of Trinity made a change to the Eco Waste trash service.
You can see their green trash cans and dumpsters dispersed across our city. What a difference it has made. You no longer see trash and other items strewn across the streets and neighborhoods where dogs and other critters have nosed through the trash or the owners of the trash simply put the items by the curb and let nature take over with its disbursement.
The Trinity City Council, City Mayor, and the City Manager are diligently working to improve services provided to you, the residents of Trinity. Over the past year, they have improved trash services, improved water and sewer services, improved the police services, improved city services, just to name a few.
The city officials and the police department are addressing loose dog issues. New members were appointed to the Trinity Economic Development group which has brought fresh ideas on how to improve and draw businesses and people to Trinity.
So, what can you do? First of all, pick up the trash around your yard and street. Make sure the refuse and your other materials is secured in an approved Eco Waste trash can. Otherwise, your trash will not be picked up.
April showers have arrived
The grass is growing and it’s raining as I write this column. It’s time to get out and keep our yards cut and manicured. Clean up the visible clutter on your property. Not only does this improve the appearance of your property, but it helps to decrease the amount of snakes and rodents in the area.
Vaccinate your dogs (as required by law and city ordinance) and keep them in your yard. If you allow your dogs to roam, they nose through trash and tend to cause other issues with your neighbors, such as dog bites and other issues, then law enforcement has to get involved.
If you have ideas on how to improve the city, reach out to your city council members, the mayor, or the city manager, and voice your opinions and suggestions. Together, we are making a difference.
Call us if you need us.
