A tip received by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office last week has led to the arrest of two felons, each with multiple charges.

Detectives with the Polk County Narcotics and Criminal Investigation Division received credible information that wanted felon Kassey Jordan, 42, was staying at a residence under construction in the Scenic Loop area of Polk County.

Upon arrival, detectives encountered a female subject at the front door who provided a false name and date of birth. She claimed Jordan had been at the location earlier but left. As detectives secured the residence, they encountered a male suspect, who also provided false identifying information.

During the investigation, the female suspect requested permission to retrieve clothing and identified a pair of sweatpants as hers. Upon retrieving the sweatpants, detectives discovered methamphetamine in one pocket and stolen checks from a nearby residence in the other. Additionally, a methamphetamine smoking device containing a large quantity of methamphetamine was observed in plain view.

Investigators used tattoo records to positively confirm that the female suspect was Jordan.

Jordan has been charged with three felonies, including possession of a controlled substance 4-200 grams, fraudulent possession of between 10-50 credit/debit cards, and fraudulent possession of identifying information (between 10-50). Jordan also had two warrants, one with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Pardon and Parole, and the other from a burglary of building charge in Chambers County.

Jason Paul Kramer, 47, of Baytown, was arrested and charged with two felonies, including hindering apprehension/prosecution of a known felon and possession of a controlled substance between 4-200 grams. He also had a warrant for engaging in organized criminal activity in Polk County.

On Tuesday, detectives conducted a follow-up investigation on the stolen identifying information recovered from Jordan. They discovered one victim had previously reported the theft of his camper trailer in a neighboring county, which contained his birth certificate, military awards, and passport. Detectives contacted the victim, confirming the recovery of his stolen documents, and also provided their counterparts in the neighboring county with Jordan’s identity as a suspect in the theft.

Additionally, detectives were contacted by a second victim who had seen the arrest of Jordan online and inquired about a missing debit card she had dropped inside a business. The victim was able to obtain surveillance footage from the store manager, showing a female matching Jordan’s description picking up the card and attempting to use it for a purchase. Detectives confirmed that the victim’s debit card was among the stolen items recovered during the search warrant execution. The victim was in the process of reporting the attempted debit card fraud, and local authorities were notified of the recovery.

Further charges may be pursued as the investigation continues. Those with additional information related to this case are urged to contact the Polk County Sheriff’s Office at 936-327-6810.
