HATE: What about it?

Posted

Someone says, “I don’t hate.” But then the hate will spew out of their mouth. They have a hateful attitude…or they just plain hate.

But if you read the words of Jesus in Matthew 12:34-37 you discover otherwise.

For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

So, WHY DO PEOPLE HATE?

I try to avoid hateful people. I don’t want to get caught up in their hatred. And I know there may be those who don’t realize they hate or why they hate. Social media seems to thrive on this terrible attitude.

So, again, WHY DOES ANYONE HATE?

Is that what Jesus would do? He never hated. He always loved. He loved us enough to want to take us to Heaven. He never gave up on His disciples, and He doesn’t give up on us. A man who was incarcerated for several years told us how the love of Jesus and His followers changed his life. He had spent thirty-seven years in prison. A while back that man got to go to his eternal reward.

Maybe it takes a prison sentence for someone to come to their senses. But the truth of the matter, is that only Jesus can get us to turn things around.

Who do you want to be like? Those who hate, or those who love like Jesus loved?
