After being married for 57 years, someone asked, “How do you stay married?” My first thought was to say, “God was behind it.” Who else would we give credit to?
However, I realize that many have not experienced what my wife and I have experienced.
Maybe society has all but destroyed the idea of marriage. After all, the U.S. Supreme Court has stamped their approval on anything but marriage.
However, I must appeal to God’s Supreme Court. Notice the words of Hebrews 13:4. “Give honor to marriage, and remain faithful to one another in marriage. God will surely judge people who are immoral and those who commit adultery” (NLT).
I must believe if God is involved in your marriage, you can stay married. And yet, I know the devil will try to destroy your marriage. He will try to bring someone or something into your marriage. But you can stand up to Satan.
So, my suggestion is for the husband and wife, remain faithful to each other no matter what.
Staying married is hard work! It requires a lot of forgiveness. It requires a concerted effort from both parties.
