Kids Free Clothing Exchange in Onalaska is preparing to close its doors, bidding farewell to the community it has long served. The store will reopen under new management as “Free Clothing for Children.” The grand reopening is scheduled for July 17 to allow for the transition. The transition marks the end of one chapter for the family-focused store, and the beginning of another aimed at refreshing the business while continuing to serve local families in and around Polk County.
Store representatives said the closure is part of a planned transition rather than a permanent shutdown. The incoming management team extends heartfelt thanks to the team that managed the store so well for so long. Their dedication and service was truly a blessing to the community.
During the temporary closure the incoming management team will be busy refreshing inventory and updating store displays with a focus on serving the needs of the surrounding communities. Donations will continue to be received during the temporary closure. Donations may be deposited in the drop box located behind the store at 13791 US Hwy. 190 in Onalaska.
The new management team is excited about the relaunch and extends apologies for the short interruption. Though there are changes in the works, the new store will continue to be a destination for children’s needs.
Volunteers are needed and appreciated for the store remodel as well as retail staffing services. For information about volunteering, contact Sherrie Winkle at 936-327-6073.
