What a glorious month that March is to get started with so many festive events happening before the Easter holidays begin in April. I am so thankful to be alive and well in anticipation of spring’s blessings.
First event that is happening is on St. Patrick’s Day, Tuesday, March 17, at Martin Senior Service Center, 400 Walker St. They are hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon starting at 11:30 a.m.
Come join us on this day of fun, food, games, and giveaways. The cost of the luncheon is $10 per person. Doors open at 11 a.m.
Luncheon and activities start at 11:30 a.m.
First activity is at 11:30 a.m. and is Green Bingo (1 game, green out) at $2 a card. Maximum is four cards per person. Other events include door prizes, coloring contest, best festive attire, a Leprechaun hunt (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place), raffle wreaths and baskets, and complementary sangria.
The St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon Menu is pork roast, green beans, twice-baked potatoes, and dinner rolls, (full salad bar, drinks, and dessert included). For more information, please call Sherry at (936) 594-2625.
For your information, regular Tuesday bingo games at the Center on March 17 start at 9 a.m. on St. Patrick’s Day as usual and will end last game by 11.
•Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church continues its Lenten Fish Fry throughout the month of March. They are March 13, 20, and 27. Dine in or dine out. Cost of the catfish dinner is $12 for all plates.
Dinner is served from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus from Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The church is at 401 Prospect Drive (Highway 19 North).

•The second event to attend in March is the Trinity County Fair and Youth Livestock Show in Groveton on March 19, 20, and 21. The show is held at the Fair Grounds in Groveton at the “Y,” U.S. 287 & SH 94, located at 229 Fair Loop.
Schedule of Events: Thursday. March 19. Check in all shop projects: 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Friday, March 20. Check in all Market Animals (not steers): 7-10 a.m.
Saturday. March 21. Check in for all H.E. Projects: 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

•The third event in Trinity is the Dinner with Friends on Tuesday, March 17, (St. Patrick’s Day) at First Methodist Church, 401 N. Elm St., in the Fellowship Hall from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Call Laura at (936) 594-3826 for more information.
•The fourth event happening this month is the First Presbyterian Church of Trinity, which is having their Annual Rummage Sale Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Come and shop for lots of hidden treasures and enjoy the fun. Other events happening in Trinity are the TISD Baseball games, (boys and girls), Soccer Games, and Golf Tournaments through April.
There are two Easter egg hunts next month.
VFW Post 6899 is hosting an Easter egg hunt party on Saturday, April 4, at 10 a.m. There will be a cornhole tournament. a three-legged race, a sack race, a hula hoop contest, a cake walk, and of course the Easter egg hunt for kids up to 14 years old.

Due to the Easter Activities on April 4, the Maxie and Eddie Afternoon Dance at the VFW Hall was rescheduled to April 11, at noon that Saturday.
The second is the River Pointe of Trinity Rehabilitation and Health Care Center at 808 S. Robb St. (Highway 19 South). Their Easter egg hunt will be held on Friday, April 3rd, starting at 10 a.m.
