Past meal was prologue for this week’s holiday

Posted

Friday, Nov. 21, was a wonderful Thanksgiving luncheon at Martin Senior Citizen Center. It was so much fun because seniors act silly and don’t care if others act silly. Ask the winner of the Gobble, Gobble turkey sound contest.

In addition to the Gobble contest, there was a Turkey coloring contest, a delicious array of Thanksgiving food, but best of all we were serenaded by Danny Cleveland.

Danny Cleveland can sing any type of song, from country to jazz, hip-hop, pop, rock and roll — anything you can request, he can sing it. He is so enjoyable to listen to, and I am so thrilled that Danny is going to perform at the Trinity Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Christmas Show on Dec. 6.

On Dec. 6 at the Trinity Community Center, Danny will perform at 4 p.m. before the Jazz Ensemble from Sam Houston State University and before the parade starts. The lighted parade this year will start at the VFW center on Caroline Street and end at Stadium Street. This is the same route as the Trinity Fair Parade was rescheduled to take in September.

The Chamber Santa Claus Float is being sponsored by Martin Senior Citizen Center this year and they have two prominent Trinity citizens who will represent Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. During the show from noon to 3 p.m., another prominent resident will be at the Trinity Center Annex room for parents to take pictures with Santa Claus. There are wonderful gift bags prepared by the Trintiy County Crime Stoppers for Santa to pass out during this picture time. and stockings to be given away during the s’mores activity time at the Trinity Center Pavilion at 4 p.m.

Repeat of the Christmas Show Entertainment Schedule for Dec. 6:

  • Noon: Trinity Tabernacle Pentecostal Church
  • 1 p.m.: Trinity Lions Club and Barbershop Quartet
  • 2 p.m.: Kelly Hartsfield
  • 3 p.m.: Keran DeBose and the Liberty Christin Band

Stockings. games, and s’mores begin at 4 p.m. The tree lighting ceremony starts after the parade is over, which is around 7 p.m., and parade winners will be announced at this time.
