Point Blank discusses audit, resident complaints

POINT BLANK — A Point Blank resident sought the city’s help with cleaning and repair a ditch on his property that was damaged in flooding, but ultimately, the city could not perform the work.

Mayor Mark Wood said that at the Dec. 9 meeting, Mr. Bushong related he has issues with a drainage ditch and wanted the city to fix it.

However, Wood said the city has no utility easement and no city property in the area, and state law dictates that municipalities cannot work on private property.

Ultimately, the council decided to take no action on the request.

In a separate matter, the council accepted the annual audit by Carr, Riggs and Ingram, which was returned with an unmodified opinion, meaning there were no findings or issues with the city finances.
