Taking the right prescription

Posted

Have you ever had a prescription for something that ails you and you failed to take it?  Or maybe you didn't follow the instructions very well and you took too little or too much of the medicine given.  Maybe the medicine just didn't work as it should.

I was given a prescription for physical problem. I read the instructions and followed them carefully.  However, I had one of those side effects that the pharmaceutical company hopes doesn’t happen. Although I knew I was having a reaction to something, I wasn’t sure what. A very kind person asked me if I was all right.  I wasn’t, and I was out of control for a few hours.

I made a quick trip to the Tyler County Hospital ER and after consulting with their very competent staff it was determined that I was indeed having a reaction to the medicine in question.

What do you do when you are out of control?  What do you do when a friend tries to warn you that you have a problem? Are you taking the right prescription?

Jesus the Great Physician has a prescription for us. His own disciples knew He had the words of eternal life; alas some of his disciples chose not to follow Him any longer because they didn't like what He had to say (John 6:60-68).

It may be that you have some spiritual problem that you are trying to deal with and it may be that you are confused and mixed up and out of control and not taking the right prescription.

The Good News is from Jesus when He said, "I am the way, the truth and the life" (John 14:6).
