I am sitting here on the 16th Tee Box Green at the Westwood Shores Golf Course. The Sun is shining; the sprinklers are watering the green. a few white Egrets are wading in the pond next to my driveway, and the temperature is 35 degrees outside.
The high Tuesday was predicted to be 44 degrees. Wow. I can’t wait to see what happy thoughts will pass my way today. Tuesday was a special day for a student who is turning 15 years old today; TISD Schools did not open until 10 a.m.
Well, the LX Super Bowl’s two teams have been picked and the game starts at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8, in Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The President will not attend. He didn’t like the half-time performance picked by the entertainment committee. The performer is the rap singer, Bad Bunny.
So sorry, maybe next year he can suggest someone more appropriate like ICE, ICE, Baby.
•We do have some professional entertainment performing in February, dancing, a pancake supper, and Dinner with Friends, all of which will only cost a donation for your enjoyment.
•I am going to mention the Trinity County Crime Stoppers Gala, which is Saturday, and is sold out, but you can still come and pay money at 8 p.m. at the Trinity Community Center to attend the dance until midnight. Call Larry Grant for information.
•Also, VFW Post No. 6899 on Caroline Street is sponsoring their monthly afternoon dance from noon until 4 p.m. The band playing on Saturday afternoon on Feb. 7 is the Winchester Band. Call Marilyn at (281) 782-8309.

I do not have much news this week because my family feels that it is unsafe for me to be out in this weather, on the roads that might be iced over, but I do believe we did dodge a bullet this time. I am thankful for that, but it sure makes life boring when you cannot go anywhere nor see anyone to talk to besides the TV.
